
Chris Leahy is a proven government and public affairs leader with nearly three decades of experience shaping public policy and driving business success as a consultant and an executive for some of the world’s most recognized brands. His career spans leadership roles at Intuit, Bayer, Peabody Energy, and Volkswagen, delivering measurable results across the technology, energy, life sciences, mining, and transportation sectors.
As Chief Corporate Affairs Officer at Intuit, Chris led a high-performing global team of 35, partnering with the CEO and executive leadership to strengthen the company’s voice with U.S. and international governments. He directed strategy across government relations, global advocacy, policy development, public affairs, and strategic philanthropy, positioning Intuit as a trusted partner to policymakers and a leader in responsible innovation.
Previously, as Vice President & Head of Government Relations and Policy at Bayer, Chris served as the company’s senior government affairs strategist, leading a team of 25 and advancing priorities for Bayer’s Pharmaceuticals, Consumer Health, and Crop Science businesses. His ability to navigate complex legislative and regulatory landscapes ensured successful outcomes on issues critical to Bayer’s global growth.
Earlier roles with Peabody Energy and Volkswagen Group, combined with senior experience on Capitol Hill—including as Republican Majority Policy Coordinator and Senior Counsel for the House Energy and Commerce Committee—gave Chris a 360° view of policy, politics, and business. Chris’s leadership extends beyond the boardroom. He serves on several charitable and professional boards, including the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, Meridian Center, The Congressional Award, and the Washington Ireland Program, and the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. A graduate of the University of Pennsylvania and American University’s Washington College of Law, he is a member of the Washington, DC and Virginia bars.
